Students have been finding suitable job opportunities for years through Tuudo, an app designed to support their academic life. However, a collaboration with the invoicing service and job platform FlexWork now offers students new and more flexible career paths as light entrepreneurs – even when other job opportunities are hard to find.
Tuudo is known as a practical app for students, gathering all the essential services needed in their daily academic life in one place. With just one click, students can check their schedules and academic records, register for courses, view the daily cafeteria menu, and use their student card and benefits. Tuudo has also consistently supported student employment by offering jobs suitable for students year-round and organizing intensive recruitment events twice a year. In September 2024, the fully digital recruitment fair, organized for the eighth time, attracted over 70,000 job seekers through the app in just four days.
Tuudo is used by approximately 250,000 students monthly from over 30 universities and several secondary-level institutions across Finland, so there are not enough open vacancies for all our users. Therefore, the collaboration with FlexWork, an invoicing and job platform, seemed logical; by offering light entrepreneurship services, Tuudo can more effectively meet students’ desire and need to find employment alongside their studies and after graduation.
FlexWork connects light entrepreneurs with employers – it’s more than just an invoicing service. FlexWork offers the most gig opportunities for light entrepreneurs, which is convenient when one’s own client base has yet to develop, and it enables billing for work without the need to establish a company. The service is particularly well-suited for students, as it takes care of salary payments, insurance, and notifications to the Income Register and Tax Administration on behalf of the light entrepreneur. This allows students more time and opportunities to focus on their studies alongside gig work.
FlexWork’s content will be available in Tuudo app in the future, but the services can also be accessed easily through a browser or by downloading the free FlexWork app. Registration and use of the service are free, with a small service fee deducted during payroll processing, which can now be reduced even further through the Tuudo partnership.
